The allegations are similar to those the state’s Attorney General brought against Chipotle

Wendy’s has agreed to pay $400k in a settlement over allegations that the company violated child labor laws at its 46 locations in Massachusetts. According to a statement from AG Maura Healey, the office received a complaint about a teenage employee working too late in the evening, and beyond the nine-hour daily legal limit. The AG office estimated there were nearly 2,100 violations by Wendy’s in the state, but Healey stresses the company “came into compliance as a result of our investigation and took meaningful steps to ensure a safe and productive work environment for its young workers.”

The charges are similar to those Healey recently brought against Chipotle and Qdoba. Chipotle agreed to pay $1.37 million for nearly 13,253 child labor violations, $500k of which would go to a fund educating young people about child labor laws. Healey says $200k of Wendy’s settlement will go to the same fund.
