Everything you need to know about the restaurant, chef, and media awards

The James Beard Foundation Awards are among the highest honors in the American food world.

The awards honor chefs, restaurants, cookbooks, food writers, and more. The semifinalists for the restaurant and chef categories (aka the “long list”) will be announced on February 26, 2020. Finalists in the chef and restaurant categories, as well as the nominees for the media awards will be announced on March 25, 2020. The Media Awards will be held on April 24, 2020, while chef and restaurant award winners will be revealed at a gala in Chicago on May 4, 2020.
